New map, or carry on with current?

I don't know :(

Once in a while I'll regain my desire to make a map. Which seems to end quickly when I take a while to make one. I lost mine again a few weeks ago, during creation of this map: plr_overhang But as always happens, I have a new idea, halfway through making this map. One which I think is better, and one I can actually do properly, unlike this one which seems to be going nowhere. So I ask you all - Should I try and finish this one, or start on my new map instead? The new one will either be plr or just pl, I haven't fully decided, but will take place down a large trench/canyon crossing kind of thing. I hope.

Its not a bad thing to stop one project and begin a new one, each map whether its released or abandoned is still a worthwhile learning experience itself which I think is more important than actually finishing a project. I would say that you take what you've gained from overhang and apply it to your new project - if you finish it or not you can't say you didn't learn something from it or have fun making it. If anything, you could upload your previous maps as MiP's and perhaps still see them completed one day by another person who learns from your map(s) and has the drive to complete them. Thats a win on all sides I think :P Rather than try and force yourself to complete something you have dwindling interest in, do what you love, try out your new idea :P

Wow thanks, I didn't expect such a thorough answer. :D I'll definitely be starting on the new map then, and you are right actually, I did learn a few things (again) through overhang, which will be useful on this new one. :) And Matt dw, I wasn't too pleased with how it was coming along so I'm not offended. :)
