Hi guys! I try too make p weapon model for cs 1.6 by using the other p model as the reference (import the ref ,del. the old model then replace the new one) when I try to compiling I've got message too many vertices. What's wrong with it?

    The maximum vertex number per smd file is 2000 I think

    Just break the model up. So try making it into two or three reference smds. So select faces, delete the others, save, and repeat until the model is fragmented. Make sure you keep everything in the same location. Now with that done, go into your qc file and add
    $body "studio" "name of smd"
    for each one you have, and compile.

    Its more recommendable to break the model by the texture groups but, sometimes is better as CYoung said

    Forgot to mention. Keep the bones in every reference, but only have the actual model for the arms in your first reference, or as a smd itself, as most people do that.
