How can I make animated sprays in counter-strike:source? All tutorials here didn't work.
Hey all. I want to make a transparnt animated spray for counter-strike:source.
The transparant part is fixed, now I only have to make i animated.
Basicly I got 2 frames, button001.tga and button002.tga, But when I try anything explained in the tutorias here in fpsbanana, I spray a blanc picture. I hear the pssshh sound, but I can't see anything.
Does anyone know a tutorial where really everything works? Or can someone explain me what I'm doing wrong, or make a uderstandable tutorial? I would really appreciate that!
Here is the button I already made and posted, But now I want o make a better animated version:

The file size is too big. you cant make ANY spray at 256 by 256. Since its only 2 frames you have to decrease the size to 128 by 128 (for each frame) in order for the file size to be under 130 KB
Ye but it has to be 128 by 128. When decreasing the size it has to be to the power of 2. so 128 y 128 or 64 by 64 or 32 by 32. Ive never made a 16 by 16. also heres a guide for hte number of frames you can have.
128x128 about 5 frames,
64x64 about 20 frames
32x32 about 23 frames
You cant make any spray 128x128 even if its 2 frames
64x64 about 8-9 frames
32x32 about 25 +
try and get the most out of each frame. Never make a spray if you know it can be a higher frame size. When you decrease the size of frames, you lose quality in CSS, becusae it need to be blown up when sprayed. CSS blows sprays up to 256 by 256, so if ur spray is 64 by 64, it need to be blown up 2 times its size, so you obviously know it will lose quality.
