Help with texture resolution

Hi, hopefully someone has come across this problem before. I've created a custom prop for use in a map, managed to go through the labour of compiling it with all the correct meshes, but I find the Uvmapped texture does not display correctly in game. There's a huge reduction in quality in game and SDK model viewer. Any ideas what could be the cause? I've some vmt options, but to no avail. Thanks. Edit: Aaaah I'm a doughnut, that seems to have sorted it. I'll do some testing to see if it was the mipmap or the compression. The fact that it looked OK in the previous vtf probably means it was a mipmap problem. Either way I have a fix. Thanks =D

Try compiling the texture without compression and mipmaps.

It does seem to the be the mipmaps that are causing the trouble. Will model suffer at all from not having them? Performance wise that is.

Unless you have a lot of instances of the model on screen or are using a really big texture resolution it shouldn't be a problem to disable them.
