Record demos of what you want, then run the demos and record them with FRAPs, then use the files in Windows Movie Maker and set everything up.

At least, thats what my friend does xD

Record the footage with either Fraps or SourceRecorder, then edit it in Vegas?

That records a .dem file, then you'll want to playback the demo and record the playback with Fraps.

First you get footage. recording demo's and then recording those demo's (these aren't video files) to video files with Fraps or any other program that can do it.
Then you edit them in a video editing program.
You've got alot of them and for Windows, my favourite is Adobe Premiere.

Convert the .Avi's into another format such as .Mpg. Look on Google for converters. I've always had that problem on Vegas 7.0

Recording with Fraps defeats the purpose. The whole point is to not use real-time encoding. It lowers quality and creates gigantic video files. This tutorial does a great job of explaining it by using huffyuv as the encoder. You can use something other than huffyuv if you want.

Or just use VirtualDubMod to extract the audio and not lose any quality. There's also no guarantees that whatever converter you find will change the audio. Most that I know of leave the audio exactly the way it is.

The best way to record is using Source recorder and not using one of the real-time encoders to encode it. The tutorial I linked to above is excellent.

As for editing, Sony Vegas is great. Adobe's After Effects is also great. It's a shame all the Widows editors aren't free. Even if Vegas is like $60 USD now, I still get better editors on Linux for free. :(

I can't stress this enough.... if you're using Source Recorder, don't encode with Fraps. And that goes for the others, too, like Xfire and WeGame.
