Quake III Arena hit indicator - A Sound Mod for Team Fortress 2

You can see this awesome sound in action in this cool pro match of Quake Live. 



Modifications with the exact same content have been uploaded numerous times on this website, but we were forced to trash them, because id Software was sadly not on our porting whitelist until recently.

I've decided to share this, because Quake III Arena is a cult classic and this hit indicator is one of the best I know. Not having it on gamebanana.com would be a shame.

I'd like to recommend SuporeMaster's Edited Quake 3 Arena Mini-Crit Sound to go along with this.

  • Quick question, I want to make this hitsound work only with the soldier, and use the default hitsounds on every other class. I know there are ways to do this, but I don't know how. I'm I can just enter a command into my soldier config file. Any help?

  • To anyone still unable to make this work, make sure your file is a WAV file, not an MP3 file, or it will not work

Sorry for the late replay. I've updated the file's folder-path to make the installation easier. I hope that'll help. Please note that a lot of servers these days disable custom content, which is probably a reason why it's not working even though it should.

If, according to your logic, 4 years are "forever ago", what are 9 years? Your comment sounds to me, like you're accusing me of ripping of STAR_ or something, which simply isn't the case. In fact, I think he has good taste, since he uses it as well.
