A complement soundpack for CS001's recent Soldierbot soundtrack.
When the Engineer was approached by the Soldier to create a "in two places at once" device, he began to wonder how he would go about the project. Would he enlist the help of the Medic to brainscan the Soldier's brain into the bot? He tried that first, but that didn't go over so well - there was nothing to copy over.
So the engineer began to think of an alternative solution. His master brain began to fiddle with plans and ideas for a good long time, upwards of a few hours, before - "aha!" - he ran off, downed a couple slabs of greasy bacon, and started right at it. He began to construct a goliath of a killing machine by stealing Reclaimed Metals and hard-earned hats from unsuspecting idlers.
Crafting these into a Frankenstein invention channeled the pure anger and hatred of the players who believed that they rightfully deserved those items. When the beast awoke, it stood, stared into the eyes of its creator with fire. The Engineer moved back a few steps, looking up in absolute awe, and now fear. The Soldierbot stared back, and stepped forward until he had the Engineer against the wall.
He screamed: "I AM NOT CLOTHED. GIVE ME CLOTHES NOW."
The Engineer scrambled and told his creation that he would get right on it. He ran out of the room, shouting to the real Soldier that the construction was a success. The Soldier ran into the basement immediately to inspect the work. As the Engineer returned from the respawn room with a fresh set of clothes, his eyes widened in horror behind his goggles as he witnessed his basement workshop coated and smeared in the Soldier's blood and giblets. Standing in the middle of the room, the Soldier-Bot gazed at the Engineer with eyes of pleasured fury. He wore the real, original Soldier's clothes and helmet, held his rocket launcher slung over his shoulder, and grinned. "THESE PROVISIONS ARE ADEQUATE. NOW TELL ME WHERE I MAY BEGIN MY PRIME DIRECTIVE."
This sound pack has a bit of humor like the Engineer pack, but I also wanted to show a rage-filled robot character, too. He's witty, but brutish and violent. He'll laugh at your failures and laugh at you for thinking your puny successes matter.
Notes: Let me know if I missed any sounds and I'll fix it ASAP. I learned my lesson from the Engineer pack, namely I made the sounds louder and I saved templates of the project. Just please don't send me requests to add new lines, I spent five hours voicing and applying effects, and my throat hurts from straining. I'm not exactly the best metalhead. x)
Enjoy! And please assess if you like it. Or if you don't! Criticism welcome.
∙ Most voices done.
∙ Touchups, in-game testing.
∙ Added soldier_go01 through soldier_go03. They were previously missing.
∙ Increased volume on several voices that were overlooked during recording - a setting was previously and mistakenly activated, which decreased volume.
∙ Added vo/taunts Soldier calls. They were previously missing.

> the sound doesn't work for me, please help
This no longer works due to Valve's ridiculous new and pointless SteamPipe bullcrap. Also, I haven't updated this, and they've added new lines for the Soldier since I've posted this.
The first comment here gives instructions on how to fix your custom content.
Creativity: Very good, especially since all the sounds still have that "killing machine" personality
Evil Level: The sound pitch is perfect - that robot sounds really mad, especially at the poor French Spy...
Humor: Funny enough not to look strange for a robot - a great balance between power and usual Soldier's stupidity
Originality: The best sound "robotizer" ever - I wish some robotic-game-making-companies took a few tricks from you. And most importantly - with the same equipment you made the Soldier sound COMPLETELY different from the Engineer, which I can't even explain OR understand
Note: Hate to say that, but unfortunately your voice might be... inadequate for some classes... But hey, you never know what might just happen, can you? Great work with those sounds man, keep it up!
Wonderful, even better than the Engi-Bot sounds (and not just cos these are louder).
I had many laughs just listening to the files, let alone hearing them in in-game contexts.
Fits the Soldier's personality well, this may totally be what he'd be like if he were literally a killing machine.
