The traditional german Guard-Anthem "Die Wacht am Rhein". A very famous song especially in the Era of WW I + II

Die Wacht am Rhein/The Guard at the Rhine History of this Song: --------------------- This song was written in 1840 as a patriotic Anthem by the German Merchant "Max Schneckenburger". It's purpose was to unite the Germans against the French, who planned to conquer the left side of the Rhine. ( Very long River in South-western Germany ). What you hear is the famous chorus which calls Germans to rush and defend the German Rhine, to ensure that no enemy sets his foot on the shore of the Rhine. lateron, the Song became the in-offical german Anthem in the German Empire. It was widely sung and was very famous in the Era of World War I and II It is not intented to be a "Attacking-Song", because the Rhine should be defended. Rather intented to be a Guarding one. LYRICS: "Fest steht und treu die Wacht, die Wacht am Rhein!" / "Firm stands, and true, the Watch, the Watch at the Rhine!"
