Play TF2 with your 360 controller!

Either save the config as something like "360.cfg" and exec it in-game, or put it in your normal config. I made a quick config that will let you use your 360 controller in TF2 for movement, shooting, taunting, jumping, reloading, pretty much everything that's needed. I did it pretty quick with little testing so, some button movements might not be that comfortable. I do own the Orange Box for the 360 so, I'll pop that in later on and get the real TF2 360 controls and try to mimic that for the PC. I included a legend so you could change buttons around, and stuff. This was only tested on Windows Vista SP1 by plugging the controller in and letting Vista download the driver. If you're wondering what bind "L_TRIGGER" "voicemenu 0 0" does, it calls for Medic.

Playing TF2 with a controller is a horribly uncomfortable experience anyway.

This config is rather pointless, because the game already has one built-in. In the console at any time, type in "exec 360controller" and the game will remap all controls to work exactly like the 360 version; it will even rearrange the HUD to map the weapons around the crosshair and change the build/destroy and disguise PDAs to be just like the 360 version. It's already in there - this script is entirely pointless. To leave 360 mode, all you have to do is put this into the console: "exec undo360controller". This will change everything back to default. NOTE: If you have class-specific scripts set up, they may interfere with 360controller.cfg. It's best to just delete all your custom scripts when using 360controller.cfg. EDIT: I should also note that since updates and PC-specific elements were not put on the 360 version, they didn't receive compatibility with the 360 controller. Loadout weapons won't have proper icons in the HUD, the main menu can't be navigated with the controller, and the loadout menu can't be navigated with the controller or be brought up with the controller unless you map it to a button yourself in the options. For me, I personally map the loadout button to the right mouse button, so when I want to switch weapons I reach over, right-click the mouse and then use the mouse itself to change weapons before going back to the game. The rest of the game works seamlessly with the 360 controller.

Pretty good, but you put L_TRIGGER twice. bind "L_TRIGGER" "+attack2" bind "L_TRIGGER" "voicemenu 0 0" (lower is medic call.) Don't want to call for medic everytime I use secondary fire, or vice versa. Anyway, I've decided to change it a little though. For example, I made it so d-pad up is talking (bind "UP" "+voicerecord") and reloading is B, and other changes to make it more like 360 version. Still, nice job, going to use this....if I can find wired 360 controller ends =/ Also, is S2 the left stick or right?

This is a brilliant script and well put together. Great for people who are more comfortable with game pads then keyboards. Very nice script and I really appreciate the quality and usefulness of the submission. Keep it up man!
