How the hell do you move the left handle

Question

I've been trying and trying to animate spy's balisong (in which you can check here: https://gamebanana.com/wips/53059) but i CANNOT rotate or move the left handle WITHOUT moving the whole entire knife. PLEASE. I NEED HELP. This handle has consumed hours of my life.
