How to add mods without using the Mod Loader?

So, I wanted to add mods once, but I think it crashed the game and didn't work, so, how do I add mods?

Some mods nowadays simply only use the modloader due to the simplicity of not needing to update anymoreIf the mods crash your game its best to verify integrity of your gamefiles and try againIf the mod in question that you want to download does have a swf version to download you can install it manually however:to install a mod manuallyopen your brawlhalla directory by going to your steam library, right clicking brawlhalla and then go to propertiesgo to local files and then browse local filesand insert the mod you have downloaded into your brawlhalla file so it replaces the files in the brawlhalla directory
