does updating chao world extended remove everything i did in the previous version or does it keep it all

No, save files are completely separate from mod files. I would recommend backing up your chao save when updating though, just in case anything breaks. Save files are stored in your SA2 folder, under resource>gd_PC>SAVEDATA

I'd also recommend if your previous version was 9.3, go into the main chao world extended folder, move config.ini (or just config) somewhere else, and once you delete the old chao world extended and replace with the new, move it back to where it was.This will keep the codes you had enabled instead of having to reenable them all through the config menu again.
