How the hell do you make a custom charcter?!

Question

So basically I want to make a custom character but I don't know what program to use to make a spritesheet, I don't know how to export them and I don't know how to add sxf. So basically I don't know how to do shit and I need someone to walk me through it, preferably in a video tutorial. Can anyone lend a hand?

For starters, there should be a template character in this page that you can use.For spriting, I recommend you Aseprite. For coding (aka editing the json files), you can get Visual Studio Code. However, I have yet to look into making custom sfx for a character.

Everything BlueSArts92 is probably right(here's the template they mentioned and it explains basically everything. it looks like someone made a program for this too). But as a fellow beginner, I use more user-friendly UIs such as Pixilart.com for sprites (could be a skill issue on my part tho) and you can literally edit the .jsons in Notepad. Also, another question asked how to do SFX and they got linked a list of SFX file names you can implement into the SFX.json. I also studied the file structure of another mod to figure out how to add custom sounds.Hope this helps. I can also rewrite this if it's... illegible. :drop:I'd make a video like you asked but not only would it take a little while I'd need a good video editor and all I have is Clipchamp :sob:
