Bypass 9-bit color/best way to make level palettes

Question

Is there any way to bypass the 9 bit color limitations of the Genesis, specifically for level palettes?After importing my level palette into SonLVL, the colors seem to be remapped to Genesis-safe colors, which makes the palette discrepant with the original palette I made in Aseprite. Should I just make my palettes in SonLVL instead? Or what's the best way to make a palette?I assume there is no way to bypass this, but if there is a way and anyone knows, please let me know, thanks.

you're gonna have to use scripting and png palettes for that, i believe.you can overload copyPaletteDataFromTable to load the new palette as it loads the original one from the rom, as for actually loading the palette itself, you can use knuckles ate 3000 grapes to do that in a single line, or code something that does that yourself to avoid dependenciescode you can use in the replies since it has a lot of comments, also remember to check modding.pdf in the doc folder of your s3air installation (assuming pc because of sonlvl)

if your looking for a good way to make a palette just grab a genesis color chart and a screeenshot of whatever zone your want to modify and do your palette
