how do textures work

Question

i dont know whats wrong with my textures i input the texture but it just turns pink and i dont know what to do and when i check the image on its own its like green orange red and black so i odnt know how to fix it

when blender paints the mesh pink it is because it cant find a proper texture. Possible solutions:make sure the texture directory is correctly assigned (maybe you renamed any folder or the texture file)most of the mesh is assigned to another material (not the claws material). you should select the other materials and reassign the textures again to them or delete any materials from the mesh other than the claws and leave only 1 material for the entire mesh. Also the texture file in genshin mods is named diffuse not lightmap. You selected the wrong file.

Have you tried File>External Data>Find missing files?

MeritedMou5 · Answer

Invert the alpha of the textures. Also, the textures are the "difuse", not the "lightmap".
