Where do I start in learning how to create mods?

A Question for Mario Kart 8

Question Solved

This Question was answered and a solution was chosen.
Hiya! I've recently learned how to install mods onto my Wii U, and was wondering if anyone who creates these mods could point me in the right direction of learning how to make my own mods. anything from model importers to basic track editors that will let me mess around with objects in the game will help.

Please note that I have very little experience with modding consoles, so I may have some pretty dumb questions and may need a lot of the basics explained.

On this game's Gamebanana page, we have a few tutorials on those material/s that you're looking for: Custom Track Creation & Model Importing. Do note that they're both pretty lengthy in detail but that's to be expected. Alternative may I suggest on starting on something smaller such as texture mods. The main tool that you would need to use is KillzXGaming's Switch Toolbox since it can import & export textures with ease & do much more! If you any further questions, either reply to this message or join the MK8 Modding Discord!

I'm fairly new to modding as well, but Wexos' Toolbox is a great tool for dealing with the wii u file formats (bflim, bflyt, etc.)
