PerriBerry and the Curse of 501.sa2mdl

Question

Oh hey, that doesn't look so ba-DEAR NEPTUNE!!!!!!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------So, I've been working on a version 2.0 update for my Water Lily Tikal Skin. Fun. Grand. I'm applying everything I've learned about Blender since I've started and am working towards something that I think will be even better in the end. One problem. I can not -for the life of me- remember what I did to get the headpieces on 501.sa2mdl to work without warping horrifically. 501.sa2mdl is a model of Tikal's head that gets swapped to in-game for the duration of her gliding animation. Because of this, any changes you made to her head model's design in 483.sa2mdl needs to be matched on 501.sa2mdl. My method for this has been: -importing 501.sa2 mdl -importing my edited 483.sa2mdl into the scene and deleting everything but the headpieces from the edit (i.e. the water liles, gem, and ribbons). -The edited headpieces automatically flip to be at the same, upside-down orientation as 501.sa2mdl. Good. -I Ctrl+J merge the stuff from 483 onto 501. -I export and the horrors depicted above carry out. I've checked to make sure the normals are all at the correct orientation. They are good. I've tried weight painting, but 501 does not directly link to the model's skeleton. I've tried parenting the objects from 483 onto 501. This usually results in the entire head warping rather than just the added elements. I'm at my wit's end and I have no idea what to try next. The weirdest part is that I somehow ran into the same problem when working on the original version of this skin last time and managed to fix it... I just can not remember what I did. At all. Oh no. If anyone else has run into this problem and found a workaround, please let me know. I am so lost as to what went wrong. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help,PerriBerry

You could try rigging the flowers on her head to the muzzle vertex group, that way you don't have to modify the head.
