Is a Hedgehog Engine 2 backport possible?

Subjectively, I think Shadow Generations looks a lot better than Sonic Generations.But before I lose focus, I wonder: would be possible to backport Shadow Generations' copy of the Hedgehog Engine 2 to the packed-in Sonic Generations, replacing Hedgehog Engine 1? The two games could be coded differently, but I don't see an immediate obvious reason as to why backporting assets and code from Shadow's half could be impossible, at least not yet.

So what you're asking is if it is possible to port Sonic Generations to Hedgehog Engine 2? I don't know if that would even be possible but I wouldn't be surprised if some maniac does attempt it.
