Performance?

Question

I'm kinda confused as to why running the mods affect the game's performance so much, aren't the mods just changes in the character models and textures? Like roaming with the mc looking around is delayed, I feel like it shouldn't impact frames as much as it does in mine, is this just a me issue?

If you are using ZZMI, disable VSYNC or play with 60fps, as for some reason VSYNC will create quite a bit of input delay.

keep in mind some mods use 2K or even 4K textures, so it can affect the perfomance, check ur mods, maybe one use textures in 4K

when you start adding mods if say you don't have a pretty good system, you're going to take a hitthis goes all the way back to into the early skyrim and fallout days when modding like this really took offso if you just meet the bare min for these mods, say a 6GB GPU, you're going to face some issues, ideally you want 8gb/12gb vram on your graphics card. I don't have any issues running mods or playing any game in general tbh, but it all varies per PC or if you're running a laptop.

It's a bit of a you issue. Mine is fine and my PC is pretty old.

With the framerate capped at 60fps you can either use vsync or disable it and it shouldn't matter, both should work fine.The issue I've noticed is that running the game through ZZMI causes noticeable loading pop-in when turning around quickly or looking around corners. Easy place to test this is right in front of the noodle shop on sixth street. If you face the noodle shop from the street and move to the left while looking down the alley you'll see noticeable pop-in in the distance.There's still some minor pop-in every now and then when running the game without ZZMI, but it's MUCH worse with ZZMI and very distracting and as far as I know there's not a fix for it. It's also noticeable with smaller things like just turning the camera near small objects.As for why certain mods cause more performance issues than others it's likely due to the size of the files in the mods + how optimized the ini files are. If the ini is calling a bunch of extra stuff it doesn't actually need that's just unnecessarily slowing things down (though I don't know if it would be enough to be noticeable). Loading raw files is always going to be slower than the game reading directly from optimized archives so that'll have an impact as well, but again not sure how much of an impact that'll actually be.
