Replace NPC with another NPC - A Question for Half-Life 2

This Question was answered and a solution was chosen.
I replaced the metro cop with the regular grunt combine. The white HLA one. Seems good. The NPC (new metro cop) seems to hesitate (stand straight) a tad before engaging. Although I think they do that anyway. Sometimes they T-pose while in a scripted scene during gameplay. Like when they bang on a door. In the QC I just changed these lines  from what they were too:

$modelname "police.mdl"
$bodygroup "alyx_cop"
$includemodel "Police_animations.mdl"

    I'm not a modeler or animator but I used to run events on a Garry's Mod server where we model manipulated and bonemerged models constantly.

    It sounds like the model isn't made to run with the animations, and would need to be recompiled with them in mind. Again, just from my novice perspective, I could be wrong.

    You need to recompile the model with all of the police.mdl settings. It's missing the animations, the attachments, the physics, everything.

    Decompile the police model, swap out the model's reference SMD and go from there.
