trigger_endsection is a brush entity. When triggered, it returns the player to the main menu.

If you don't want this entity to be triggered by touch, you can enable the 'Use Only' flag.

The easy way is to just use a triggered fadeout (an entity that causes the screen to fade to black, used during the resonance cascade) with "The End" screen text or something prompting a manual closure.

As for how to force quit to main menu you might try decompiling the last map in Half Life to see how they did it; that's how I figure stuff like that out.

I'm novice in mapping (and I might not know what I"m talking about) but I know a few entities based on valve maps I've decompiled.
My best guess is it would be the info_landmark or whatever the goldsource equivalent is, as that is one of the main entities that handle map transitions. You might be able to tell it to send you to the main menu, though I've never tried.
