So I was hoping to make a mod to change the English text to be more accurate to the Japanese version based on the subs used by BlackBlur7 on his Sonic Heroes videos. Unfortunately, it seems harder than I had initially thought since the text is all in .mtx folders, which I do not know how to open. I started installing Microsoft Visual Studio, but I do not know which workload to use, and my PC doesn't seem to have enough storage space to download all of them. Which one does Sonic Heroes use? This is all assuming you can even open the text files using visual studio, anyway.
Are you talking about the subtitles that appear when characters talk? If so the subtitles for those are in the font folder, scroll down a bit and you should see hint files called "hint001x.bin" . The x being the language of the subtitles that the games uses depending on the setting in-game. Im not sure if .bin files can be opened the way you are trying to open them, but if not you can just use sewers "hint editor" that can also be found on this site.
