to make a chromatic scale I recommend getting audacity and polyphone. it's both free, and relatively easy to do.audacity to cut the chromaicscale.wav into multiple chromaparts.wav do assign them then together in polyphone.best to watch a  tutorial of it. sounds more complex than it is

If your DAW supports Audio File Processor, you won't need an sf2.Just a heads up.

Here is what I do. First, I use FL Studio and import the chromatic into their and go into piano roll. Second, I make a note under Slice 1 of the chromatic which tells me which key I am in (For instance, if the key under it is B4, it is most likely in the starting key of C5 and goes all the way up until you reach the last sample).
