Half-Life Source model issue

So, a short while back, a friend of mine asked if I could replace an L4D2 character model for GMod with a character model from Half-Life Source (well, to be specific, it's from an addon from GMod [see image 1]). I did what I always do: decompiled, replaced the player with the reference model, and recompiled. Unfortunately, when I did recompile, I ended up with a broken model (see image 2. Ignore the missing textures). I tried just decompiling and recompiling the Source model without any changes, and I ended up with the same thing, so it's a problem on the model's end. I was wondering if anyone knows how to decompile the model properly. I've tried using other SDK's, like Half-Life Source, but nothing was working.
