High pitched custom sounds

My custom sounds in TF2 keep getting high pitched what should I do?

I found out that I could replace sounds in TF2. Soon I found myself modding the game sound-wise.

I've replaced some tracks and some sound effects. But the sound from when you're slowed by the Bonk! turned into an annoying scratching sound and the custom sounds I added when you're übercharged, and when your über ends changed into a very high pitched version of the ones I modded, and it doesn't apply to just those sounds either, it applies to all sounds I've modded...
The hit sounds and kill sounds work just fine, as they have handy sliders to keep their pitch in check (The music tracks that I changed work just fine too!).

However, other sounds such as when you're übered and when you hit a crit don't have sliders for that, and still, their sounds go high pitched the next session I join, disregarding if I'm in a server with sv_pure 0,1 or 2.

Is there a reason why this happens? And if it has one, what could I be possibly doing wrong?
