Hi. I've made an RNG version of my textures. I was testing it on prisonguards ('cause they're using only one texture for body and one texture for glass). Sometimes I feel like textures don't change 1 time per map (I used this guide for making it). I was thinking like "why?". Decided to look in console and see this:
No such variable "$stock" for material "models/combine/gign/prisonguard2"
Error: Material "models/combine/gign/prisonguard2" : proxy "LessOrEqual" unable to initialize!
I never had a problem like this before... What do I need to do?

    • Somewhere in the VMT you have a string called $stock which isn't a native and/or valid material flag.
    • You're using a proxy named LessOrEqual, which is a valid proxy type.

    Odds are the first error is bleeding into the next lines, so post your VMT file. If you're using a syntax highlighter for VMTs in whatever program you're using it should also highlight the text in a fucky way, which would tell you it's wrong.

    Remember that the VMT file format is just a big table of key values. If one line isn't properly terminated, it won't read every single subsequent line correctly.
