Half life 2 console commands/flashlight shadows

A Question for Half-Life 2

Members see zero ads. Membership is 100% free
So my question is this: What do the following hl2 console commands do?

r_flashlightshadowatten (Default value =0.35)
r_flashlightupdatedepth (Default value =1)
r_flashlightnear (Default value =0.4)
r_flashlightlinear (Default value =100.0)
r_flashlightladderdist (Default value =40.0)
r_flashlightfar (Default value =1000)
r_flashlightculldepth (Default value =1)
r_flashlightdepthres (Default value =4096)
and really any other command that pops up by typing "r_flashlight" into the console.

The main reason I'm messing with flashlight commands is because I'm trying to lower the quality of the shadows the flashlight casts.

I know they're disabled if your shadow quality setting is set to medium or lower, but I need the shadow quality to be at its highest level, so this is not an option.

I can settle for a command to disable only the flashlight shadows, but if it's at all possible I'd like to just lower the shadows quality. (There render distance as well)

Regardless of if the above commands help my current request or not,
I'd still like to know what they do. Thanks.

    r_newflashlight - Toggle the new style flashlight added in the Orange Box. 1 projects from the player, while 0 lights up the place you're looking.

    r_flashlightfar - Controls how many Hammer Units in from of the player the torch can emit light. Does not affect the torch when r_newflashlight is set to 0.

    r_flashlightupdatedepth - Doesn't appear to have much effect.

    r_flashlightnear - Setting this to 0 makes the torch flicker. Other values don't seem to make much of an effect on it.

    r_flashlightlinear / r_flashlightquadratic / r_flashlightconstant - The commands used to control the Constant-Linear-Quadratic rendering of the torch. r_flashlightshadowatten controls the attenuation of the torch shadows in conjunction with these.

    r_flashlightladderdist - Affects the appearance of the torch on ladders. Setting it to 0 will make the torch much smaller on ladders, while setting it to 100 will make it brighter. Additive with the Constant-Linear-Quadratic formula.

    r_flashlightdepthres - Affects the resolution of shadows cast by the flashlight. Recommend using only powers of 2. Could potentially improve performance by lower values.

    r_flashlightrender - Toggle the rendering of the torch. Set to 0 to completely disable the flashlight effect.
    r_flashlightmodels - Toggle the torch lighting models. Set to 0 to make the flashlight ignore models.

    r_flashlightfov - Field of View of the flashlight projection.

    r_flashlightrenderworld - Toggle the torch lighting the world. No apparent effect. Likely leftover GoldSrc command.
    r_flashlightrendermodels - Toggle the torch lighting models. No apparent effect. Likely leftover GoldSrc command.

    Does your computer have a hard time rendering those shadows? Your profile says your PC is fair enough to play games.
