All-Star Smash loading issues?

I'm getting crashes on All-Star Smash recently. It seems like the game is trying to load a character after Kazuya that doesn't exist, causing it to crash, or something like that. I used to have the Character Expansion mod, but even after removing it the crashes persist. I'm running the 2.0.0 beta 5 of ARCropolis and I'm running 12.0.0 of SSBU. I have no mods that affect the CSS nor a modified ui_chara_db.prc and this is the only mode where crashes happen in the middle of the match, so I have no idea what could be causing them. All of my other mods are either Skyline mods that affect character parameters or skin and music mods. All characters load properly and there are no issues up until after Kazuya.

EDIT: Pokemon Trainer, or I guess Squirtle, seems to be causing the crashes. I have no skins for Squirtle and nothing for the Pokemon Trainer at all, not even a mod that affects their parameters, so I'm not sure what could be the cause.

This issue is very unique. Have you installed one of those overhaul mods such as HDR: Soul Remix or Championship Edition? These mods make changes to characters that make some of them unstable to the degree that sometimes a specific move a character attempts to execute may abruptly crash the game.

For now I recommend disabling your mods then re-enabling them one-by-one. With the ARCadia tool this can be done very easily via checkboxes to enable/disable mods on load with an easy GUI menu, located in your Switch's Album when running in Custom Firmware Mode.
