Absolute waste of time. Nearly any PC you buy today will run Source fine. It takes far more effort to make such content for GoldSource than Source, and with FAR less impressive results. Nasty posterized and pixelated textures(common since most uploads i see just take a huge texture designed for dynamic lighting and scale it down) absolutely ruin high poly stuff for me. And it's annoying to me(i'm kind of OCD) to have a ridiculously high-vertex model in a fairly low-detail GoldSource environment.
Why I don't like any super HD packs with Hi-Poly models, because they simply don't fit at all Half-Life blocky maps. This contrast between Hi-Poly models with sharpen textures and old level design looks not good.
Honestly I don't recommend using super Hi-Poly models in GoldSrc, I mean those above 8000 poly, first engine itself is outdated to such detailed models, second these models usually has textures with size of 2048x2048 or even 4096x4096, GoldSrc has maximum limit of 512x512 texture size, if you scale down that big texture to this size it will look blurry and ugly as shit, and completely ruin look of model.
I'm sincere, I do not understand people who want more and more polys around!
I personally like the model to be nice. What do I mean by this? The answer is a mixture of things
The model may be the most detailed and therefore the best of its kind. But if it has an ugly animation, everything went to the pipe! (Short version, in the trash)
ex. CS:GO ak-47 Definitely the best, But, fuck, the recharge animation is too simplistic, Even robotic!
I also do not like CSS hands. I know there are many fans that looks good and that, But in my opinion not, That's why I refuse to rigged models with CSS hands.

Just look at it, the first time i saw this i fell in love literally. Although the texture was not my style, Do not hesitate to download it and use it, to the point that I constantly update it (although I did not upload it to GB)
In my final opinion, much polys, best model is a myth
While i can accept models with ~20 000 polys (if only my computer was that powerful), i think, that models with 30 000 polys and above are unnecessary and just way too poly for GoldSRC engine. That is my opinion
