The HL1/2 Short but Sweet mapping contest has come to an end, and in my eyes has been a great success. There's been some truly unique submissions that I never thought we'd see, and I'm thrilled to see such a variety of submissions!
And the winners are...
"Being Imprisoned in Venice is the least of your worries... Gordon attempts his escape from the dark prisons, as he travels a brief part of the Italian city, and attempts to escape the heavily guarded combine outpost. Wake up Dr. Freeman"
_**Prize:**_ 5000 Points + 1st choice of game selection
Create a diversion. Easy. Get out alive? That's a different kettle of fish.
For me, this was one of the best non-valve maps I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Only just loosing to Church due it's lack of detail, the main appeal for this map was it's crossbow sniping as you watched over your rebel allies. It was short, and it was sweet!
_**Prize:**_ 2500 Points + 2nd choice of game selection
[Facade]
"This map got me pregnant."
-Unrea1
[Hectic]
"The reactor has gone critical. You need to shut it down and save the life of thousands."
Both of these maps leave the player with an odd of accomplishment, Facade for it's bizarre design choices and random puzzles and Hectic for it's poignant message of sacrificing the players life.
More than anything it leaves me thinking that people like to confuse and try and freak me out a bit :)
_**Prize:**_ 1000 Points + 3rd choice of game selection
