ze_crazykart_v4 - A Mod for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  • - optimized a lot/fixed possible crash issues
  • - added a star hunter mode, a random player (biased towards the top of the scoreboard) gets an infinite star for normal race stages
  • - added normal-map + phong for the kart+fzero kart models (improved visuals)
  • - set the default weapon to just a glock+knife (can be modified in the .nut config)
  • - improved the thwomp start rate, now they move more randomly relative to eachother
  • - fixed f-zero chargepad hardcode-resetting to 100hp even if the max-health is set above 100
  • - added f-zero .nut config to ignore wall-touch-damage (disabled by default)
  • - added .nut config to allow T's to win at the lasers/ending as well (useful for non-ze servers)
  • - added .nut config to allow T's to join the bossfight (useful for non-ze servers)
  • - added .nut config to allow/disallow PVP damage
  • - reduced the default blue-shell spawn chance
  • - improved the teleport-back-to-checkpoint when you fall down (if enabled), it now sets you back to a closer location (thanks to Wesker for this)
  • - improved the weapon-restriction .nut config, now it allows you to set more variants of restrictions, including a special filter for the finale
  • - added Mojonero to the VIP for troubleshooting/finding out a lot about the string-table crashes
  • - updated the patron list
V3 was meant to be the final version, though it turns out that some things were heavily unoptimized/were prone to crashes in certain environments.

In V4 that should be all fixed.

I also threw in a StarHunter mode, some general fixes/improvements and more .nut config options.
A handful of the config options will make the map more configurable for non-ze servers as well.

A 64-player crazy race awaits you

A map made from scratch in ~1 week

Thanks to Enviolinador for helping out with the green shell bounce/vector logic!

The map contains:
> 64 driveable karts that explode after taking too much damage.
> 14 kart-based items.
> 11 unique stages to play.
> 3 gamemodes (race, battle, star royale and f-zero).
> a scoring system which rewards certain actions (and punishes cheating).
> a dynamic scoreboard for the top-15 players.
> a voting system where the top scoreboard players gets extra influence.
> randomized world-spawn for mushrooms, repairs and stars.
> a dynamic kart-speed system that stacks properly with certain events.

CONTROLS:
WASD = drive.
Left mouse = use item/honk if none held (or F-zero boost).
Right mouse = makes the kart jump slightly.
E = get in/out of karts.

How to launch the map on your own
1) Download ze_crazykart_v4.zip here: https://gamebanana.com/dl/430010
2) Open ze_crazykart_v4.zip when downloaded
3) Drag & drop the contents into your `csgo/maps/` directory
4) Open CSGO
5) Open the console
6) Type in `map ze_crazykart_v4`
Now you're playing on your own.

How to play the map with your friends
1) Make sure that you and your friends follow step 1-4
2) Start a casual lobby match with any default map (like dust2 for example) and invite your friends
3) Once you're ingame, open the console
4) Type in `changelevel ze_crazykart_v4`
Now you're playing with your friends.

(or join any dedicated server that has the map added in their cycle)

- Fixed a checkpoint trigger in stage 6 that could cause players getting slain without doing anything wrong.

Stripper #2 (2020-09-30)
- Fixed a hurt trigger in spawn that leaked into stage 6 which could cause players to die if they drive into a specific spot.

    After play on this map in MG server with other players for time about 30 mins, i can tell with my poor english:
    Server setup:
            OS - CentOs 7
            Tickrate - 102.4
            Last version SM and MM.
    Pros:
    1. Fun
    2. Unique, you can't find other similar maps for CS:GO
    3. Cool technical part - dynamic scoreboard, kart's health show, LAP counter, kart's "weapon" display.
    Cons:
    1. Sometimes, you can't get to a kart. Rejoing to server didn't solve this. Can high tickrate break this?
    2. Too much low time to get in karts.
    3. Players which didn't get in or lose karts get bored.
    4. I think, you was made this map for 64 slot servers, but on servers with 10-20 players maps looks abandooned and empty.
    5. Built-in !VIP menu overlaps with VIP plugins for Source Mod - there are plugins already have !vip command.
    Suggestions:
    1. Can you tell which things should i made for propertly hosting this map in MG server? Example: strip all weapons, set tickrate to 64, etc.
    2. I want ask to you you made a MG version - players which lose cart=die, etc.
    3. Add more time to get in kart.
    4. I didn't tell bout fixing bugs because i know, some of this you can't fix due to shitty CS:GO engine.
    In the end i suggest you to port you other cool MG maps, which you made for CS:S to CS:GO. There maps are really cool, CS:GO have massive player and server base - i think people should see good maps which was left and forgotten...
    P.S. I write this because MG part of CS:GO is stagnated too much, many mappers was left CS:GO and any Maps section flooded by similar "course" and "multigame" maps without any of new ideas.
