de_fracture_a - A Mod for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Science complex embedded in canyons of New Mexico

This map was designed to create a fun unique experience for players of all skill levels while hopefully bridging the gap between the inexperienced and seasoned players. Map Preview/Tips & Tricks: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPvqNgykQEo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPvqNgykQEo "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPvqNgykQEo") Steam workshop: [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=244198738](http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=244198738 "http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=244198738") There are tons of fun (and surprisingly useful) tactics that utilize mechanics such as airstrafe, bunny hopping, boosting, and surfing. There are also lots of creative ways to use grenades to promote smart and coordinated grenade usage. **NOTE:** This is **NOT** a finished submission. I understand that this essentially disqualifies me from a chance of winning in the contest, but I've worked hard on it and it'd be a shame not to submit at all (and I'd hopefully like some kind of feedback at the very least). Hopefully the judges/community will have some fun trying out my map. As of now, I'm considering scrapping/postponing the map. Not sure if it's because I'm burnt out on this map but I'm starting to think no one would play it. :(

And as always, feel free to ask for help on WW forums. Thanks Shawn! Means a lot coming from someone with experience in the professional industry. :D I started working on another project for Insurgency but I'll get right back to it afterward.

    > **Posted by JorisCeoen** > There appears to be a problem with your ground textures. I'm not sure if you are aware Ah thanks for the heads up! I just started on another project for Insurgency, but I'll definitely start fixing up my map again afterward.

You might want to check out this stream over here. There appears to be a problem with your ground textures. I'm not sure if you are aware

    > **Posted by JorisCeoen** > Hey you're the guy that was on the Wall Worm Forums :D glad to see your submission come alive! > > O btw, it's Shawn, not Sean ;) haha yeah small world! Turns out those train cars just take up A LOT of texture space and requires a lot of resolution (2048x2048). Decided to just use brushes and just add smaller models for detail. First time using custom models so ran into too many problems :( Ah well, learning experience! (whoops, changed shawn's name) :)

  • This looks really cool! The rules say that it has to be playable, so I'm sure that as long as you have a "finished version" of this by the deadline, you're not disqualified. Your map really looks nice, but the lighting and skybox needs to be changed; the current setup makes the map feel cold and uninviting. Brighter, de_dust-ish lighting should make the map "feel" better. Good luck!
