P3F Model Port Project - A Mod for Persona 3 Portable (PSP).

High-quality FES models, ported to P3P!

What is this?

When Atlus ported Persona 3 to the less powerful PSP, they decided it was necessary to lower the polycounts and texture quality of the models.

Ten years on, and with most people now playing P3P on PPSSPP, we have the ability to bring back those discarded models from FES without needing to worry about hardware constraints.

This mod ports as many high-quality FES models to P3P as possible.

Once available, I also plan to port this mod to the upcoming PC release.

Which models have been changed?

This mod includes the following ports from FES:
  • Party member models (all costumes - battle/dungeon crawling).
  • Event models (e.g. those seen in the protagonist's awakening cutscene).
  • Other minor models (e.g. evokers).

What about the other models?

Surprisingly, the only optimisations applied to Persona, enemy, and field (e.g. Tartarus) models appear to have been texture downscales. Therefore, their FES models have not been ported as part of this mod.

How were P3P-exclusive models handled?

P3P includes one additional costume for every party member besides the protagonist. These costumes are not available in FES.

For consistency, these exclusive costumes have been edited to better match the FES style. You can find comparison pictures of these costumes at the top of this page.

... And the female protagonist?

This mod does not change any of the female protagonist's models since she was not present in FES and there is nothing to port for her from that game.

Installation

This mod will not work on PSP hardware. PPSSPP and Vita only.

Mod packages have been made available below for both Aemulus Package Manager and Mod Compendium. Please download and install whichever is appropriate for the mod manager you use.

Note

While the use of a mod manager is recommended, if you're unable to use one (e.g. no access to a PC), please be aware that the Mod Compendium version can also be manually installed by extracting the .7z file and copying the data folder (P3F Model Port Project\Data\data) into your bind folder (typically PPSSPP\memstick\PSP\P3P\bind).
