Wasteland Clothing Hires Retexture v1.3A - A Mod for Fallout: New Vegas

Sigh, apparently a Fallout: New Vegas modder recently decided to wipe their account and mods. I'm wondering why these person, if they decide to quit modding, don't just leave the mods up for their fans? So, I've decided to upload this. Hopefully, this will help preserve the mod. Version is v1.3A, which is the latest the author ever uploaded.

This mod retextures many (but not all) of the game's outfits with better textures and normal maps. This is a package from many retextures Macintroll had done past years for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Quality may vary because they have not been done at the same date, some have been done in 2010/2011, some done just recently.

All the vanilla feeling is preserved, it's just about quality and details. All outfits still have the same look & feel, but they are all retextured or improved with better photographic quality textures and at a bigger size.

What to expect:
- 2048x2048 diffuse textures
- 1024x1024 uncompressed Normal map textures
- Better looking in game, but still useable on small configs.
- All armor mods using vanilla assets will also benefit from the new textures.

To install, download the file, extract it, and copy the "Data" folder to your Fallout: New Vegas  directory. Can be used for Fallout 3 too.

Thanks for saving this. 1.3A is what I have as well. I just saw it was gone. And it was the latest update. The Mod author was an idiot who used a body mod while making this one. So some of the meshes were F*cked from the start.

But the easy fix is to either delete all the meshes, or find the specific one causing you issues.

Imo. It's easier and faster to just delete them all. And I've never seen an issue with doing it that way.

  • Damn. That texture pack was one of the highest rated on FNV Nexus, used to be one of the first armor packs to pop up.

I see too many online projects / communities / people get torn apart by bullsh*t, but it's good to see that some of Mac's work is still floating around. It's painful not to have the details, but I'd rather not speculate about it.

In any case, I'm totally grateful you've made this available to us, even if that goes against the wishes of its own creator.
