Metroid Dread "Hypermode" difficulty - A Mod for Metroid Dread.

Lot of modifications, mainly on enemies, bosses and EMMIs, to allow a new experience with the game.

First of all, this "mod" has been created using the 'config.ini' file used by user 'RealAi-Ai' to make the "Display Player/Enemy Health and Damage Values" mod. Thanks to him/her/them.

Metroid Dread - Hypermode difficulty


This mod enhances overall difficulty of Metroid Dread, and is mainly focused on E.M.M.Is. Better experience if coupled with Hard ModeHard Mode

Main Features :

Beams : 
  • added +0.5s to the charge beam charge minimum and maximum charge.
  • reduced beam speed by roughly 30%.

Enemies' Health :

  • +50% health on Autclasts, Autsharps, Autsnipers, Muzbies, Chozo Zombies, Dredhead, Goliaths, Gooplots, Groundshockers, Hecathons, Iceflies, Quetzoas, Obsydomithons, Sclawks, Sluggers and Scourges.
  • +100% health on Plies, Infesters, Rodotuks, Rock Divers, Shakernauts, Takumakus and Yamplot-Xs.
  • +200% healths on Shelmits and Vulkrans.

Enemies' Damage :
  • +50% damage by Autclasts, Autsnipers, Gobblers, Goliaths, Shakernauts, Gooplots, Ground Shockers, Hecathons, Iceflies, Infesters, Poisonflies, Quetzoas, Rodotuks, Sclawks, Sluggers, Scourges and Yamplot-Xs.
  • +100% damage by Autools, Autsharps, Chozo Zombies, Dredheds, Nailongs, Obsydomithons and Shakernauts.
  • +200% by Autectors, Caterzillas and Shelmits.

Bosses :
  • +50% health on Raven Beak.
  • +50% health on Kraid phase 2.
  • +50% health on Corpius.
  • +25% health and +50% damage on every Central Units phase 2.
  • +50% health on Robo Chozo.
  • +50% health on Chozo Warriors.
  • +25% health and +50% damage on Experiment Z.
  • +25% health and +50% damage on Golzuna.
  • +50% health on Escue.

E.M.M.Is :
  • EMMIs are no longer shown on your mini-map.
  • +50% on EMMIs' speed except for Yellow EMMI, who has +25% ; +25% speed when Central Unit destroyed, except for Yellow EMMI, who has +10%.
  • +10 degrees on the vision cone angle, +50% on it's length, except for Purple EMMI.

Misc. :
  • Shinespark goes 100% faster.
  • You can only chain 2 dashes.
  • Phantom Cloak deactivates as soon as you have no more Aeion.

    hi, i have a question, can you retired the limite of the zones of the EMMIS? BECAUSE THIS WOULD REALLY BE VERY TERRIFY IN THE GAME AND IT'S WHAT I REALLY LEFT WISHING TO HAPPEN WHEN PASSING IT

    The 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0 uploads are empty, empty and corrupt. Can't unzip the first two because there's nothing there and 2.0 keeps throwing errors for the files when unzipping.

    Any idea if it's possible for EMMI to operate outside of their zones? I'd like to help out or make a mod myself, but struggling to figure out how to get the right files (never modded before).

    This is really cool! I hadn't gotten the chance to flesh out all the options the developer configuration included. Its really cool to see how much can be changed with it!

    Also question, you were able to change the beam charge speed and projectile speed, was there any options that similarly affected missiles, specific beams, powerbombs, etc.? I'm curious as to if the properties of the other weapons can be changed too. I've had no luck so far and I'm assuming there's a data table elsewhere in the game files that holds all the numbers for the other weapons.
