(vs. Blite) Friday Blight Funkin' - A Mod for Friday Night Funkin'.

Boyfriend's quest to dunk on musical noobs takes him to Griswell. Surely setting up his speakers outside an ordinary flower shop shouldn't cause too much trouble, right?

This is the FULL build of the mod, containing all assets, executables, and dependencies.

Extract the rar archive into C:\ProgramFiles\roseblight-fnf-mod (or whatever u want to name that folder), then run KadeEngine.exe as administrator. It should work out of the box.

  • Added RNG to APLOVECRAFT -- some notes on boyfriend's side will randomly become pausa notes each time you play! The probablility of this happening depends on difficulty


APLOVECRAFT:

This song features a mechanic with notes that freeze you and the chart if you miss them for a specified amount of beats, forcing you to watch helplessly as you miss more notes. If you are on HARD, you must hit these notes at "Good" or "Sick" or you will still get frozen. I have deliberately made myself unable to clear it on hard. Good luck.

Seeking a greater challenge? Download the source code on Github and uncomment the line in Note.hx that says probability = 777; 

Tips? If you are frozen, mash every step to avoid getting locked out. It technically releases you one step before, so this can help you escape. Prioritize hitting the warns over normal notes if you have to choose. Also, you can view the song on BotPlay to memorize the chart before playing it

Known issues:


Replay is completely borked

Replay does not register Pausa notes correctly, leading to you "dying" on a replay file even if you cleared it. I tried to fix this, but ultimately decided to prioritize finishing the mod. Normal gameplay and botplay work just fine, to my knowledge.

Visual Offset Glitches on Idle and Pausa animations

For some reason, the screenshaking coupled with the built in offset implementation leads to wild offsetting. I implemented a custom offset setter for the pausa animation specifically; but it's not perfect. Besides, if you're looking at them, you are already dead.

    Its like the reverse version of the ice notes from the vs Ace mod, only difference is your chart's vision is blocked.

    This means you essentially get stun locked after missing 1 chain note, since by the time you get unfrozen your already missing another, kinda the reverse of Fun and Interactive.

    I won't call this song impossible because it is, but I wont call beating it fun, when you freeze in the Ace mod you can still save it. regardless 10/10 on everything else.

    As someone who's beaten zardy, who I think we can agree is pretty hard but not unfair, I tried this but the thing I don't like is that you have to mash one note so often in so many parts of the songs and it really takes away from the songs themselves. now there are good ways to chart these sorts of notes some examples being void's songs, old ballistic, and Tabi's 3rd song. It just doesn't feel like it belongs here I don't know. I also think that it's cool you want to make it hard but your going beyond even Exurberation (tricky mod's unfair song) levels of difficult and that is insane super hard.

    (Edit: I mean to say the charting for the same notes only applies for the first song. at least in my opinion.)

    While this mod is really fucking spectacular and needs the utmost respect, I'm sorry but that last song is unfair and kinda just undoable for anyone of lesser level than itswolfii or others. The chain note concept was really amazing and I think it really brought together that "final battle" mood with the chains in the background as well, but my quarrel here is with the placement and or system of those special notes. It's to me basically "ayo after half of this song passes if you miss one chain note thats it for you babee" simply because after playing the song 8 times i havent beaten it ONLY because when i miss a chain note after 1/2 of the song is over i just get bombarded with chain notes and i cant do anything, i just get spammed. Occasionally i will be able to see the future and predict where a chain note will be but it was like 1/8 times of me trying this song.... nonetheless I enjoyed the mod and I dropped a like for it!

    NOTE: Some spoilers are here... but This mod is so FIRE!

    Now, I don't know really know about Roseblight, so I will not touch upon the story for now.

    I'm not gonna complain about the monochrome artstyle since it's how the source material looks.

    The character designs and music really captured the 8-bit, retro vibe.

    I have a few complaints about it though. First off, Brainjail has a lot of overcharting. I saw a lot of notes that were not even voiced. And that being littered with unnecessary jacks makes it a bit more disappointing in my opinion.

    The second song? It was average to great, and I don't mind the last quad.

    The third song is what makes this mod SO UNIQUE. It's sheer randomness on which notes become Pausa notes (even though some of the notes will always be set to Pausa). Now I've seen the Freeze mechanic before, but you took it up to another level which

    1. If you got a Bad or Shit in a Pausa Note on hard, you will still get frozen.
    2. If you get frozen, you can't see the chart, making it unique and SO EVIL!

    Overall these are my overall thoughts to the mod. Some issues here and there I'll give it a 6.7/10!

    I swear theres something wrong with those gimmick notes on the last song. I was right at the end of the song, I missed nothing, and then I ended up missing 1 (without missing it) and ended up in a miss loop because every single gimmick note chains into another one over and over and over till you die. Its completely unfair. These notes seriously need to be more spread apart, because if you miss once almost anywhere its just insta death due to being in a loop of missing them over and over again.

    Edit: Ended up clearing it, I will say its a really good mod, just the amount your punished for missing 1 gimmick note in certain parts of the song is a bit overkill, especially in sections where you have to hit like 15 notes per second.
