Thanez HEV Replacement Pack
- A Mod for Black Mesa.
This pack replaces the default HEV arms for every single weapon and first-person animation with Thanez's arms. It also replaces default weapons with Thanez's versions (where applicable), and replaces default animations with IIopn's versions (again, where applicable).
IIopn used Black Mesa's default rig, which means all of these replacements will function with different arms in multiplayer. For the sake of completeness, I also replaced the multiplayer world models and multiplayer-only weapons (pipe wrench, stun stick, syringe).
I simplified the credits in this posting for legibility purposes. All participants are captured (I hope! Please tell me if I omitted anyone!), and more detail on specific contributions are included in the download.
Random thoughts: 1) I used the M67 grenade instead of the Mk 2 because a) the U.S. military hasn't used the Mk 2 since Vietnam, and b) Thanez didn't make a Mk 2, he made an M67 :) 2) The assassin unfortunately uses the standard Glock world model in the right hand, so I couldn't make that silenced. I did, however, make the Glock in the assassin's left hand silenced. So pretend they're all left-handed 3) Steam Workshop version here. Not sure why anyone reading this would need that version, but hey, posterity!
In case anyone's curious how I did the rigging: I started with Kiyoshi's rig, scaled and positioned it to match the default arms as best as possible, used a skin wrap to transfer Thanez's arms onto the default bones, and then used skin data to get Kiyoshi's vertex weights back. Then I hand-edited the vertex weights to match the default bones better where necessary. It was very necessary in a lot of places. I don't know how many people have taken a close look at the default arms, but they were clearly not based on anything from this plane of existence.
That's a fantastic pack! One simple thing though. The view model doesn't cast shadows like vanilla viewmodel do when in outdoor areas like surface tension, forget about Freeman, the entire xen chapters. Is there a fix for that?
hey can you add an unfolded stock version of the spas 12 and add green tritium sights for the spas 12 (all stock versions including the unfolded version which i suggested),the glock p80 and the beretta m9? make sure the tritium sights are neon green and include them on the world models as well, and add neon orange tritium sights as optional
