de_arch - A Mod for Counter-Strike 1.6

Hello, 
this is my very first try to make a map.
I hope you enjoy it!

Inspired by the ruins of the Cachtice Castle.

Backstory:

World's best policemen and militaries tracked a secret terrorist weapon stash in a castle in central Europe. There's only one way out and the terrorists are outnumbered ...

Counter-terrorists' objective:

Secure the weapon stashes and prevent the terrorists from escaping.

Terrorists:

Explode the weapons to provide cover for your escape.

Additional notes:

There are two bomb targets - a cannon in the lower castle and a U-shaped tower.


Additional info:
Development on the map started 8th April, 2021.
The name, "de_arch", was chosen because the castle is built with Romanesque architecture, which is characterized by low, thick arches.

    Like Cmdr said, the open skybox really kill some players performance.

    Moreover, there is a triangular shallow pit next to the stair into the cellar, where players can't escape on their own.

    Also the lack of walls fencing up the map border looks quite disturbing to me, as chaotic T players may throw the bomb off the border (including jumping off with the bomb) to disgust other T players.

    I did not play it but the design is very interesting to be your first map.

    It looks really promising for a first map, hope you will continue to improve and develop.
    You should really consider Cmdr's comment on the skybox for your future maps, as optimization is always important.

    This looks great for a first map!

    But I would consider you to NOT use this kind of open skybox. Because also the outside of the map needs to be rendered, it will kill the players performance.
    Build sky boxes as tight to the maps border as possible (f.e. above the outer walls) to avoid this. You will see that this will greatly reduce compile time and file size while making the map less laggy and more playable.
