Tides of Darkness Co-Op - A Mod for Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness

Updates

Wargus Edition in the works 10mo
  • Feature Porting the maps from the original game to Wargus
Hi everyone. I want to share a nice update about my co-op version of Tides of Darkness. As I have already stated in my last update, I won't share any more updates on those maps since there is already a Co-Op edition made by another person which has the original objectives from the campaign maps integrated in the custom maps.

So what I'm doing it's simply porting my custom maps into Wargus. The reason why I'm doing this it's because the Wargus engine (Stratagus) has a series of "functions" that can let me do some things like:

  • Making custom A.I.
  • Replicate/Modify the objectives of the maps.
  • Specify the color of the players.
  • And much more...
In addition to those features the Wargus Co-Op edition of Tides of Darkness will not only feature the maps to be played by 2 players but even with 1 player helped by an A.I ally.

The porting is already in the works and you can find more information here:

Tides of Darkness Co-Op (Wargus Edition)

You can play the maps that are completed and if you want you can give feedbacks about those custom maps.

I hope you give a try to this new and improved Co-Op edition of Tides of Darkness.

No. WarCraft II editor doesn't let users to make their own objectives to complete. Feel free to surrender when the objectives are completed. If you don't remember the objectives of the maps check out this web page.

How can I play those maps with a friend?

There are different ways to play those maps with someone:

  • Playing with the GOG version of WarCraft II Battle.net Edition.
  • Getting the IPXWrapper library and put it into the WarCraft II folder. Playing through the IPX network it is necessary to specify, before playing the maps, the placement order of the players inside the Multiplayer Game menu, by setting the order to fixed. Both players must have the same map inside the Maps folder.
  • Downloading and installing the non-official Combat Edition of WarCraft II and playing online.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
