- A Mod for Zombie Panic! Source
A big winter objective map for Zombie Panic! Source.
(_This map was supposed to be in the Winter Gamebanana's Contest, but there was so much stuff to add and fix that i were able to submit now. Have fun !_)
Your group were on a big ship searching for food and other kind of supplies and medical stuff. But the ship was about to ran out of gas, fortunately we were able to stop in one docks somewhere in South America.
The place was completly abandoned and closed due the infecetion, but we still found some weapons and ammos around, maybe you can find more gas cans for our ship and keep doing the travel. See if you can find more gas cans in the Docks or we might need to stay at Hotel in the area.
Be attention, we are not alone in this cold winter. You might kill your own team maters if they get infected in this cold winter.
- Gas cans can be found only in the docks, not in the street or outside of the port. Maybe inside the gas station.
- Stick together in this winter, more faster you do the objective, more easily we can get out of here.
- The map is somewhere inside the rooms of the motel.
**Thank you for read and upload my map, report any bugs/issues of this map here. Appreciated it.**
###PS: This is the first version, there will be probably other one soon. Be alert and have fun! ;)
*Sidenote beofre downloading this version*:
This map is still playable with the 'HOTEL' and 'DOCKS' area. There's a new version, more detailed and better lighting available to download here on GB.
The map was way too dark in some areas especially in the motel even with the power on it was still super dark. There was a lot of bad grammar used in the description and in the objective display. the story and playability was good minus the poor lighting. Just fix the grammar and the lighting and this map will be solid. 8.5/10
Hey Taba; I really liked your map but it's definitely going to need work.
A) WAY too dark; there are parts of the cabin/motel porch where even as a zombie with Z-vision on you can't see ANYTHING. There needs to be a small degree of environmental light or something to keep areas like this at least somewhat visible.
B) Gas cans were way to hard to find at first; and it took 6ish rounds before the server found out what we were supposed to do. Maybe tell us we're looking for 3 gascans and make the area they spawn in less spread apart. Also we weren't sure what to do with them at first and people were trying to take the gas cans to the boat; unaware if we had all of them yet or not. Maybe after all three are collected require the survivors to convene at the gate and throw a switch in the gas station to enter the mansion.
C) Zombie spawns are going to need a lot of work, perhaps have them come out of the second warehouse to the left of the first one or have them come from behind the tankers and cargo crates; and the area between spawn and the gas station felt to spacious. It's never good to have that much open space in ZPS so maybe you can add some form of structure in between the two or just move the gas station a bit closer and cut some middle ground out. Then you could just put a few more cars or tankers in the way so Zombies can sneak more.
D) The porch on the motel/balcony felt a little to big and useless; other than allowing zombies to get on the roof. Also the second floor hallway is way to easy for humans to camp and mow zombies down in, it's a long hallway with no alternative routes as far as I could see and I couldn't touch the survivors even with all my zambie skill.
E) Move the last zombie spawns closer to the house, I was spawning 200 feet away from the survivors and with the massive amount of ammo in the map it felt impossible to get anything done. The beginning makes it really easy for zombies to get kills while the end makes it near impossible.
D) As Zombie I can activate the radio; I didn't mean to but it's a bit inconvenient. I'm sure zombies will accidentally make the mistake I did or grief by doing so.
E) The last objective, escape to the mountain was a bit too vague and when we finally got that far the humans had all died because they weren't sure where to go. Maybe clarify which direction to go or add objective markers to show where they need to head so they're not trying to scale the sides of the map that lead to nowhere. You might also want to add a helicopter or something to the end, and have a supply cache by the mountain ready; or have the military arrive after a few minutes because it was rather anti-climatic to just step on the road and they win. I'm not sure what triggers the victory but yeaah.
F) Like Vodker said it needs more detail! One of my main concerns was the openness of the room in the motel with the fireplace; many humans were camping on the stair case and just mowing zombies down before they even had a chance to come close. The road to the motel is also barren and boring, maybe move it a bit closer and eliminate the excess forest and snow that spans out in both directions forever. Throw up a fence or something and move Z spawn a little closer to the cabin so zombies have a better chance. I also recommend putting a zombie only ladder on two sides of the house to give us quick access to the second floor via the porch.
I feel after you do some balancing and detail work this map will be awesome; but as it stands now it's a little mediocre; 6/10
This map not really bad, but that's what I did not like:
- A small count of details
- The lighting is too dark
- I thought not sound natural environment
- Forest is made is not very good
As a whole it is quite good, but it would be possible better.
