fy_iceworld_future - A Mod for Counter-Strike: Source.

A remake of fy_iceworld really. Except in the sky! Sort of.

fy\_iceworld\_future Author: h4mx0r 200 years into the future, civilization has rediscovered a form of unparallelled entertainment to satisfy the human bloodlust. Gladitorial 'to the death' combat of a new era, displayed on pay-per-view television. In a remote oceanic location towards the extreme southern hemisphere, an arena was built specifically for the purpose of this televised event. Nano-Camera Drones fly around, invisible to the naked eye, recording and sending all the graphic footage straight to the Spectators in real-time. Designs of this specific arena were built to mimick the infamous 'iceworld skirmish of 1999'. This gigantic hunk of ice and metal is kept afloat by anti-gravitational orbs that float around the structure. The inner section of the arena is a pure reconstruction of the 'iceworld' and the outer limits are surrounded by guard towers to offer a strategic vantage point. Below the floating island are freezing waters of no return. The Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist teams are in it for the money, with $300 awarded per kill and more for each round they win. With a supply of clones limited only by the show's demand, this arena is sure to be one bloody warzone. NOTE: There is a bomb that can be planted next to the snowman in case a round gets dragged long. There is a second C4 up in the tower behind the CTs in case the first one is lost to the waters. There is once again a buy zone in the bombsite itself. Surviving winners get to stock up for the next round! Also this thing isn't really meant to be played with 64 players (hell, who plays CS with 64 players short of zombie mods?) but the option is there with 64 spawns. Also special thanks to TopHATTwaffle for his Realworldtextures2 pack (used for glass) and vanblam for his sci-fi texture pack (really cool textures)

(Adding a humming noise to the orbs was actually on my agenda but I never got around to it for some reason) Also for the appearance of melting, I just came up with a new aesthetic idea. I can either alter this to have a melting look or to change it into a building with ice over it. Anyways, thanks for the tips!

    Err Okay, so since nothing seems to have happened, I've reuploaded it so that there is no buyzone in the Terrorist section since it was kind of gamebreaking if anyone tried to play on that map. Anyways, I haven't changed anything cosmetically, especially the four ice blocks in the center since I think it stays a little more true to the original that I'm imagining. It also gives it a slight 'artificial feel' that you might get from an arena built by company cutting corners to save costs on a game show.

I compiled the map like a billion times this morning and hammer crashed during one of the compiles, that might have been the one when I removed the buy zones from the sides. I was tunnel visioned into making the iceworld part of it look very exact. Good idea though, I'll look into doing that in the revision.

    looks very nice overall, though there is something i say should be improved. The squares in the middle I'd say need to look like they are melted like the bottem of the whole thing, other then that nice job for this little map

    I think you mistakenly added a buyzone to the Terrorist side? Also, you should at least add a computer generated Nav mesh, it's better than nothing. The bots are quite fine with it, but sometimes they like to go skydiving. I like it though. :)
