BACKGROUND: On a sunny afternoon of November 2005 a group of
terrorists capture hostages in the metro, meantime the
police evacuates the territory. The rescuing movement
begins when special forces infiltrating the separated
area by two designated points.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES: the suffix 'PRO' meant a massive reduction in files size by compressing textures and cut one of the four stations which was part of the original map layout. Back in 2010 a half gig map size was incredibly large before the steam workshop so this version was produced to address the problem after release.
Hey Jack, thanks for the comments! Yes there is and will be.. You see, cs_mbp is soo big in file size 'cause the geometry is large and I wanted the graphical quality match the official. Also notice all 3 versions contains nothing from original game content [from textures to sounds]. 100% new experience! That's what You get by those hundreds of mbs.
When the first release in 2010 received here many complaining comment about the size, I've decided to make cs_mbp_pro 'cause I worked 5 years on this and obviously wanted people to play my shit-> leaving everything unnecessary out for an absolute gameplay. Next year I spent probably a month on the even smaller fightyard version which is 96mb! I strongly recommend to put that version on internet servers! Otherwise You need at least 12 people to get this moving. It's much of a lan map.
In the end, with all these metro maps I wanted to make portfolio content and was my debut on source, went through almost every aspect of level design production with it. Yes it lacks gameplay, but it works in appropriate circumstances. /n -salute.
Would you please explain in description the differences between cs_mbp and cs_mbp_pro? I see pro-versin is without the one ct spawn station and metro travel ... anything else?
At least the 288 mb are rather applicable to a public servers than the 470 mb version, even I miss the metro travel as CT ... :/. But file size is still a big issue ... Although the map is awesome and impressively realistic!!!
