Well i started to learn how to map for counter strike and hl1 and than made a few map here and there which i never released and a few that were not so good and got released ..
anyways i started to map for portal and just looked at the original map and how they would design their maps .. and on the 2nd try i got it right, i think.
if you have stylistic questions just download the original maps here on this site and look how valve did it and for help with triggers and other stuff just try to figure it or ask at www.thinkingwithportals.com or any other mapping communtiy site .. by the design of your map you should also keep in mind that others don't know how this puzzle works unlike you do so you have to think: are my puzzles doable without exactly knowing how to do them?
