  • Reverted back .phy files on a ton of models (collisions were broken, making it impossible to get further in some areas) *The client crashes should thankfully be fixed though*
  • Tweaked the entity-cleaner to ignore stage-related entities (it seems to have prevented stage wins)
  • Stage1 - Added a push at the very end, preventing zombies from exploiting the win trigger
  • Stage2 - Fixed the texture scale on a few brushes
  • Stage3 - Made sure that the ending isn't exploitable
I keep telling myself that "this should be the final/fixed/playable version until i add another stage"

but it always ends up being a lie :,(

I've jumped around a ton in the map now, trying to find/break things without success. I just hope i didn't miss anything again.

Sorry for all the trouble, i'm about to cry at this point
(GOOD NEWS, the map was tested on PSE without any gamebreaking issues)

  • Recompiled ALL models (in hope of solving the sporadic client crashes)
  • Added an edict-cleanup script that runs at the end of each round (to prevent edict-related crashes)
  • Increased lightmap scale overall
  • Fixed the bosses not detecting grenades
  • Added a sound to indicate when a nade actually hits a boss
  • Fixed the Alluringlight push being offset when spawned off-rotation
  • Made the spear item stronger against zombies (better slow time)
  • Made the pitchfork item stronger against zombies (better slow time)
  • Made the electrobeam item stronger against zombies (better slow time)
  • Tweaked the zombie rock item damage (lowered HP from 40 to 25, also set a measure_movement for accurate damage)
  • Added a script to ensure that all human characters can't get infected by zombies
  • Stage2 - Tweaked the boss initial positioning (hoping that it won't get stuck)
  • Stage3 - Nerfed the boss HP
  • Stage4 - Increased the boss HP heavily
  • Stage5 - Tweaked some displacements (in hope of players not getting stuck)
  • Stage6 - Increased the boss HP
Just when i thought that the map was working fine i got reports about clients crashing sporadically, and even a server as the round restarted (i suspect the edict count)

I have now taken heavy measures in HOPE of things being solved, as for many other tweaks/fixes.

NOTE: The bosses are probably gonna be easier now as the nade detector works, but it's probably good for the time being (as people get through the map easier, learning it, finding bugs etc)
*please let this be the final version before i add stage 7*

As the prophecy states, the time has come once again...
Every hundred years, the dark vampire known as Dracula resurrects.
His power and minions spreads far, and terrorizes the land into turmoil.
Enter, the Belmont bloodline!
A vampire hunter named Simon Belmont must venture into the Count's domain in order to defeat him.
Your mission is to aid Simon in his holy quest against the evil that now stands before you.
Along the way you will have to encounter numerous challenges and dangers, but even then you must stay vigilant.
Follow Simon into the depths of darkness, slay the evil that lurks there to free the land.

Wan helped a lot with the porting, though he could unfortunately not finish it due to IRL-stuff/work/etc.

Ironically enough there's no castle in the map just yet, even with the name "CASTLEvania" :P 
Fret not though, i will add stages as time goes.

This map contains:
> 6 stages (more to come)
> Tons of human items
> A bunch of zombie items
> Playable characters for humans and zombies
> 9 different npc's
> Bossfights
> A dynamic system where different elements interact with eachother
> Randomized entities for a different experience each round

    Probably one of the best maps for Zombie Escape. It's very hard for me to like almost any other map over one of his trendsetters: Predator... and I can't say for sure if I like this one better. It's just a personal thing.

    What's sure is that on a technical level this map is beyond all other maps, including predator, minas etc... it has an insane amount of variety, and has an unseen final boss battle that is just breathtaking!
