A mod that ports various Sonic Heroes content to SADX.

Information

This mod aims at porting various Sonic Heroes content into Sonic Adventure DX. This stable release ports Seaside Hill, Sea Gate, Ocean Palace, Road Rock, Grand Metropolis and Power Plant with their objects and a few sounds. A WIP will soon be added to test out the ongoing stuff. This mod will only receive update when a level/content is fully done.

I've just done the easy part, thank CorvidDude, igorseabra, MainMemory, PkR, sewer56, Shadowth117, SonicFreak94, ItsEasyActually and everyone else involved in reverse-engineering both games!

This mod makes use of SonicFreak94's sadx-dc-lighting for lighting accuracy and better vertex alpha transparency. You can play fine without it, but some places might look off. It will rely on it for some lighting effects in Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion in the future.

Also thanks to Benji for testing out everything!

It is compatible with mostly everything as long as you run it afterwards
You need to set the camera to "free" in the pause menu

How to install

  1. If you have the 2004 PC version, go ahead and download MainMemory's Mod Loader; if you have the Steam version, please use PkR's installer to convert it.
  2. (recommended) Install sadx-dc-lighting (shaders &  better transparency) and sadx-fixed-edition (keeps the camera "free" & other useful fixes)
  3. Install the mod. To use the 1-click installer, launch the Mod Loader, go in the "Options" tab and click on "Install URL Handler".
  4. When playing, use the "free" camera mode in the pause menu

    First of all, holy crap this is amazing, I can't imagine how long it must have took.
    Secondly - How do you get past the turtle bit in ocean palace? Theres no springs so if I try to jump and dash I just fall into the water and can't get onto another turtle.

  • I have an problem with Power Plant. It seem then when I go on the blue track after the three platform and even when I activate it, I just keep falling down throw the track and just fall for throw it. Is that an glitch? Cause I saw video of other trying this mod and they don't have that problem

    Is it possible to hear rail-grinding sounds in game? I know they're in the HEROES_BANK file, but I'm just curious if it's possible to register the sound to that collision. Loving the mod by the way! Keep it up guys!

  • Jeez. Power Plant was really rushed. It's impossible to complete because the springs at the end of the rising lava sequence don't bounce you high enough. There are also so many issues with this. How come the level was rushed?

  • One thing I'd suggest, is including support for the "Post-SA1 LightDash on Y Button" in this stage mod. and fixing the "game crashes upon death" problem.

  • Just played Grand Metropolis and I'm impress. This is perfection. The road who make you advance without moving like in the game. The rails grinding was also an unexpected touch. It is unperfect and the camera is unstable in those section but it isn't unplayable and game braking. So, you might make Rail Canyon and Bullet station an reality.

    Awesome progress so far! I just have a couple questions:

    - Knuckles and Amy are disabled in Trial mode even after they've been unlocked, yet when I access the Heroes stages through Adventure/Mission mode, they can play through them just fine. Is locking them out of the Trial menu intentional?
    - The timer doesn't show up when playing as Tails since the loaded levels have the same ID as Emerald Coast. Would you be able to use the ID of a different stage (such as Windy Valley) to fix this?
