MINI UPDATE: 19th of December 2019 > City Escape has been fixed with an additional mod/file, either download and use as a mod or copy/paste it's gd_PC folder into the main mods gd_PC folder. It makes the camera face forward during the truck section and prevents it breaking at the final stair/rail section HOWEVER does not work without the FreeCamera mod unfortunately.
At the risk of spamming this games page here's another mod, while tinkering with the level editing guide stumbled upon a very quick and easy way to enable free camera in SA2... by copying in the wrong levels camera data file for each file it disables (almost) all stage locked cameras. In Sand Ocean it does lock for a brief while just after the start and probably a quirk or two in other levels as I used the camera data from Sand Ocean for all other levels and Dry Lagoon for Sand Ocean.
Works for ALL SINGLE PLAYER AND TWO PLAYER LEVELS, NOT BOSSES/CHARACTER BATTLES.
Can rotate camera anywhere (bar very few exceptions, hence slightly buggy) even when moving. It does make more scripted sections more wonky, such as loops (won't spoil how it changes loops but it's kinda cool) and the camera will clip into some objects (start of Metal Harbour, gravity cylinders in Final Chase and no doubt other instances). In short, it's rough - but when the original was also rough it's maybe about even or possibly better (also makes my stage mods more playable).
City Escape: DOES NOT WORK on the last portion, will try to fix if possible, camera stays facing back before the last rail).
