Hello, I'm currently planning on reopening my old servers for use with CS:GO and allowing users on GB to play custom maps there.
Right now only official maps are in rotation and only two custom maps are installed, one of which doesn't work due to file size limits.
Please suggest SourceMod plugins for me. In the mean time, while the default map isn't all that great, if you could play on official maps for now and test the server performance, that would be great. It seems to run fine on 5v5 Defuse for now. I had to do an upgrade though, because having only 2 cores and 1 GB of RAM caused a lot of rubberbanding on players.
sv_pure is disabled. Go nuts.
The IP address is 35.209.236.164, I'll leave it running for a while but I'll have to shut it down during certain hours to save money (I don't have a job).
Again, and let me make this clear, the server is not finished. Maps have not been fully added and the actual configuration is mostly vanilla. I'm publishing this now so that I can test to see how many players the server will handle and if it needs further hardware upgrades, and more importantly, if my wallet will be able to handle the load.
For any nerds out there, I'm running a custom e2 Virtual Machine on Google Cloud with 4 virtual CPU cores and 2 GB of allocated memory. This was the cheapest option that I could go with without causing any lagspikes or gameplay issues. So far at 64 TPS the server runs pretty smooth with 10 bots. The server is running Debian 10 (Buster).
Thank you.
