Hello Ladies gentlemen boys and girls and people and ages recently it has come to my attention that I have spent a decade plus playing CS 1.6. I've been in charge of multiple communities been on teams spent a substantial amount of money hosting the game among other things. My point being I've met hundreds of people made friends lost friends sometimes because of disagreements sometimes they just disappear one day in some cases they passed away I've experienced all this as a direct result from being part of the community. And you know I don't regret a second of it. I think at the end of the day it made me a better person. So I guess the entire point of this post is just to have a discussion of how important this game has been to you? - Slade.
CS 1.6 is probably the only game which most of my teenage life revolved around. This game also happens to be the sole reason why I joined this site, and why I've gotten into modding in the first place.
It's also gotten me through some tough times, I could forget all my problems and just boot up my crappy old PC and start up CS 1.6 and just blast my free time away. Certainly, the modding scene for CS 1.6 was much bigger back then compared to today, as more people would actually be making skins and maps and shit. Then came the era of cheap CS:GO ports. Now we don't even have that anymore.
I mean just imagine the world without Counter-Strike. How monotonous and bland would that be, huh.
This game brought me here to GB, I used to submit maps to this website but now all I do is communicating with people. I didn't release a new map yet since September because I lost cs1.6 after a PC formatting. But I can restart again soon.
