Today I started work on a new rating system that will work alongside our current rating system. The current rating system will not be replaced, at least not until the new rating system is proven to be better.

The new rating score is called a bScore (short for Banana Score) and weights each rating according to the rater's rating reputation.

A rating's reputation is influenced by several factors, such as whether the rater posted, whether they got exemplary feedback for their post, whether they're an actual modder of the type of mod they're rating, etc.

If you refer to the screenshot, the Veteran +1 is given for 1yr+ members. Not depicted is the exemplary feedback bonus, which is the highest, at +4. If you're a veteran modder and provide a great comment that gets EF, you're going to have the most significant individual impact on the bScore at a rating weight of 9.

There's an old blog about it here.

More to come!
