CS:GO New Modding Committee

To organize the best submissions into the game

By ATIX 5 months ago

In all general, What do you guys think about an organized Modding CS:GO Committee? for any old/recycled/remade or new content could be certified approved for this new game by an official modding community (fpsbanana)? This way Gold content can shine through thousands of submissions and only the Best is filtered! - I presume, Valve should be giving sdk support for the game, as it has made the CS franchise very successful in the past and with no support it could become just an ordinary game passing by the shelf.

I'm pretty sure they will release the SDK but I just hope it doesn't take several months like it did with L4D. Me and a friend are already working on a map for CS:GO, making it for CS:S atm, so hopefully it will be easy to change it to CS:GO. Would be nice to have a site, that showcases some of the best work the community can produce.

I doubt there is going to be much totally new shaders that actually prove useful.

Well what I've seen from in game footage they are pretty much using updated l4d shaders and that's quite an improvement on the orange box shaders !

CS:GO will have full modding support, and will be very similar to CS:S so hopefully transferring maps from CS:S to CS:Go will be quite straightforward and cony require minor tweaks.

I'm amusing valve will use the StamWorkshop in some way or another for CS:GO, however when I spoke to the CS:GO team they wern't sure how community content would be handled.

Here's an interesting idea.. how about a CS:GO community created by the modding community themselves? Obviously GB will support all CS:GO maps/skins/spays/prefabs/tutorials/tools etc.. but we get 1000's of submissions each day, of varying quality and often the best submissions get hidden by low quality subs. It might be nice to have a smaller sub-site showcasing only the best hand-picked submissions, as chosen by a team of critics?

mod SDKs are a no brainer, of course valve will release some, but the real question is, what kind of innovations will the new modding committee create?

maybe zombie madness but with more twists and expanded gameplay (since its a new source engine, how will that affect the use of props?)

and i would absolutly orgasm if a zombie escape maps could happen

i guarantee if this new cs:go modding committee pulls through like css did, then pc can enjoy another decade of cs-grade mods

I would hate for CS:GO to go SteamWorkshop route.

It would be like the hated TF2 we see today.

They should just make it like before: defaults weapons and let the community modify if if they wish. Here's to hope they wont do like L4D2
